About the Planter
My name is Buchanan Jackson. I was born and raised in Metro Atlanta. My family rarely attended church during the early years of my life. My freshman year of high school, an older cousin offered to pick me up for church every week. After going through the motions for a couple of years, I came under Holy Spirit conviction of my sin while alone in my bedroom. That day, at the age of 16, I put my faith and trust in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. One year later, God began the process of calling me into the ministry. As I neared my high school graduation, I was presented the opportunity to serve during the summer at Myrtle Beach Christian Retreat.
This summer experience solidified the calling of my life. It was also where I met my future wife, Katie. The following summer, we were married. We moved to Cullman, AL where my wife was born and raised. Over the years, we welcomed our two sons, Riley and Ty, and joined a small growing church.
My ministry journey really began when my wife and I joined Temple Baptist Church in the fall of 2003. We were eager to serve. Over a ten year period, we served in every ministry of the church from adults, to students, to children, to worship, and welcoming our first time attenders. The church saw steady growth and I became part of the volunteer leadership team.
After 10 years of volunteer leadership, God opened a door to join the staff in a full time capacity. My role was Life Groups Pastor focusing on the adult ministry of our church. After five years in this role, God began to first stir my heart about church planting. This stirring came at the same time as the church was approached by another church about becoming a campus. I was asked to become the campus pastor in preparation for what God was currently refining in my heart. I served as campus pastor of the Fairview Campus for over three years.
God had one final turn in the preparation for this church planting journey. He guided me away from full time church ministry into a new ministry through Chick-Fil-A. My experience at Chick-Fil-A has helped me to further solidify the person God has created and called me to be. I understand workplace ministry on a greater scale. It has afforded me opportunities outside of a church setting for gospel conversations and discipleship.
Our Mission: How to Make Your Life CountSacrificial Devotion: “And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: and thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.” Mark 12:29 - 30
God must be first in everything we do.
Relational Connection: “And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:31
We are not meant to do life alone.
Biblical Application: “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works” 2 Timothy 3:16 - 17
Decisions are guided by one question, What does the Bible say?
Gospel Saturation: “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:” Matthew 28:18 - 19
The gospel should be shared everywhere we go.
Generational Multiplication: “teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you, and lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Matthew 28:20
Making my life count means helping others to do the same.
